The world waits to see who wins the battle of Project Kuiper vs. Starlink.
Both companies are deploying LEO spaceship mesh to provide affordable, faster, low-latency spacecraft broadband connections to serve ten million people from remote places.

On the other hand, Project Kuiper has begun launching its prototype space crafts, kuiperSat-1 and kuiperSat-2, on October 6, 2023. They have a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license for 3,326 spacecraft constellations without interrupting previously installed satellites.
Outside the planet Neptune’s orbit, there is an icy region called the Kuiper belt, according to planetary scientist Gerard Kuiper. Amazon got the name Project Kuiper in that way.

How many Spacecraft are operational –
Project Kuiper promises to provide speedy internet service. They have permission to launch and connect space capsules in low Earth orbit. Meanwhile, SpaceX has already launched and operating 5,442 in LEO.
Both internet providers are deploying advanced technology to create a great space economic model for future generations. Kuiper operates its spacecraft mesh with 98 orbital planes in three orbital altitudes. The altitudes are each 590 Km (370 mi), 610 Km(380 mi), and 630 Km (390 mi), respectively.

How do Starlink and Project Kuiper Internet work?
Starlink Uses a piece of equipment on the ground named a Phased array antenna, automatically tracking space ship movement as they pass overhead—those spacecraft constellations in the lower earth orbit range from approximately 340 Km to 1,200 Km altitude.
A phased array antenna communicates with the satellites using Dynamic Beamforming Technology and can move the antenna’s direction according to the user’s point of view. It allows users to have a stable internet connection.
Furthermore, SpaceX strategically installed Ground stations with global coverage. These ground stations connect users to the internet backbone through spaceship constellations in the lower earth orbit.

According to Amazon, Project Kuiper is not fully functioning. As the FCC license says, Kuiper must deploy and operate at least half of the 3,326 space stations by July 2026. However, Amazon claims they have deployed enough spacecraft to begin customer pilots by mid-2024.
Kuiper declared that once they complete all space shuttle installations, the internet speed will reach 400 Mbps for most customers, almost double that of traditional internet connections.
